Marcus Rashford’s shoulder injury could have a big knock-on effect for Manchester United team-mate Daniel James this summer.
James started like a house on fire following his move from Swansea City to Old Trafford back in the summer of 2019, but his critics soon came for him when he went off the boil.
He ended last season in stellar form, though, and was arguably Wales’ best outfield player at Euro 2020. But whether he is a Manchester United player next season is still up in the air.
According to The Telegraph, Leeds United, Brighton and Burnley are all interested in signing the 23-year-old winger during this window.
Leeds have a long-standing interest, of course, after James’ move to Elland Road in January 2019 was scuppered at the 11th hour by a last-minute U-turn by then Swans chief executive Huw Jenkins.

Brighton boss Graham Potter is a great admirer of James, given he was manager at the Liberty when the winger really burst on to the scene in a Swans shirt.
Burnley are said to be interested, however wages are said to be a stumbling block for the Turf Moore outfit.
But all this could be moot in light of Rashford’s shoulder injury. The England forward is set to undergo more assessments this week with the plan for him to undergo surgery to rectify the issue, which was sustained back in November 2020 against Arsenal.
United announced the £73million signing of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this week, but with Rashford set to miss a chunk of the season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s options will be fairly limited.

The best part? It’s completely free!
They have 19-year-old Amad Diallo, but he is away with Ivory Coast in the Olympics and could be absent for the start of the season.
Paul Pogba has played out in that wide channel, however many believe he is more effective in a central area, while Juan Mata now lacks the pace to play out there consistently at Premier League level.
James offers Solskjaer a real pace option and is hitting his best form once again, therefore it is no surprise there are at least three suitors in the top flight.
But Rashford’s seemingly imminent surgery might well scupper any move being planned by United’s Premier League rivals this summer.
