Cristiano Ronaldo took part in his first Manchester United training session since 2009 on Tuesday – but 18-year-old Hannibal Mejbri also caught the attention of Red Devils fans.
Ronaldo is back at Carrington after securing an emotional return to United last week, meeting former team-mate turned boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before training with his new team-mates.
The Portugal captain could be seen going through the gears alongside the likes of Juan Mata, Fred and fellow Portuguese star Diogo Dalot.
Academy graduate Mejbri was also put through his paces in the same session, and training footage from United shows him performing impressively.
In a clip shared by a United fan account, the teenager first displays some fancy footwork to get the better of Fred and then lays the ball off to Donny van de Beek.
Van de Beek then picks Mejbri out again, and after Fred fails to intercept the pass he takes a perfect touch, runs through on goal and has a shot saved.
Do you think Hannibal Mejbri is good enough to break into the Manchester United first team? Let us know in the comments section below.
The United faithful were encouraged by what they saw from Mejbri, pointing out on Twitter how he clearly got the better of Fred in training.
One wrote: “[Mejbri] is definitely ready for bigger challenges no doubt”.
Another commented: “He made mickey outta Fred with ball control like a pro. Why are they not promoting him?”

A third put: “Can’t wait to see him in the first team”.
While another said: “Fred still clinging on for dear life against an U23 player”.
Mejbri, who operates as an attacking midfielder, joined United’s academy in a £5million switch from Monaco back in 2019 and quickly progressed to the Under-23 squad.
He made his senior debut in the Red Devils’ 2-1 win away at Wolves on the final day of the 2020/21 campaign, replacing Juan Mata with eight minutes remaining at Molineux.
The youngster has also earned three caps for Tunisia after opting to play for them instead of France.
