Karna Solskjaer makes Man Utd Women debut

Karna Solskjaer made her senior debut for Manchester United Women on Sunday, appearing as a substitute during her side’s 2-0 FA Cup victory over Bridgwater United.

Man Utd were two goals to the good and cruising by the 87th minute thanks to Charlotte Buxton’s own goal and a strike from Ella Toone, providing manager Marc Skinner with the perfect opportunity to hand Solskjaer her maiden bow for the club.

Her father Ole – former striker and manager of the Red Devils’ men’s team – and mother Silje were in attendance to witness the special moment.

It means Karna and Ole have become the first ever father and daughter pair to have played for Manchester United.

Karna – a striker like Ole – joined United’s women’s academy in 2019, having previously played for local sides in Norway.
