Time is running out for the Red Devils to secure Champions League football for next season with tonight’s clash against the Blues a must-win fixture.
Ralf Rangnick’s United have lost three of their last four in the Premier League and sit six points behind Arsenal having played a game more ahead of this Thursday night match-up.
In third, Chelsea enjoy a big advantage over the chasing pack and will go ten points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham with five games to go, if they can secure a victory in Manchester.
Christian Pulisic delivered the latest of wins for the capital club last time out as they downed West Ham, their first win at home in over a month.
Chelsea have found matters easier going on the road however and have not lost to United in their last four meetings.

Tuchel has been getting increasing frustrated by Chelsea’s finishing. They have been carving United open, but are still to make the most of their chances.
He was livid with Havertz moments ago after failing to beat De Gea when one-on-one.
“Your city is blue, just like London, your city is blue,” sing the Chelsea fans. The home team faithful responds with “We want Glazers out”.
Chelsea on top on the pitch, and in the stands when it comes to volume.
27 mins: SAVE!
Havertz has to score… Kante strolls into the final third and releases the German one on one, yet he again goes for accuracy and hits the goalkeeper’s shoulder!
Rudiger slices over from the corner.
26 mins: Chance!
Just after that Ronaldo flop, Kante rushes away on the counter and Havertz beats Telles for pace. Rather than cross, with no player clear to be fair, he side-foots a shot into the side netting at the near post.
Again, that clinical incision in the box is lacking for Chelsea.
25 mins: A short corner routine from Mount looks good to meet Alonso on the penalty spot but just lacks the accuracy required for that sort of pass into the box.
Down the other end, Ronaldo goes down in the box too easily under pressure.
22 mins: It’s just the final ball that Chelsea are lacking… Mount breaks in down the right channel and sends in a low cross which De Gea can pick off before Havertz has a tap in.
One cannot help but feel if Chelsea really needed a goal soon, they could get one.
20 mins: A chance for the hosts to sit on the ball for a moment and build something themselves, with a renewed crowd as the 17-minute protest against the Glazers comes to an end.
17 mins: Chelsea fans shout “shoot” every time Rudiger picks up the ball from range and Chelsea do well to keep a move running despite the lack of a final ball.
United break out momentarily to a huge roar from the Stretford End, yet it comes to nothing and the Blues camp themselves on the 18-yard line before Kante whips a shot into De Gea’s midriff.

Chelsea have bossed the opening stages and look generally sharper than United in every department. De Gea has already been called into action twice – and United bodies have had to throw themselves in front of other chances for the visitors.
United have come into a bit more in the past few minutes.
13 mins: Ronaldo attempts the spectacular after Matic recycles a corner into the box, but shins a bicycle kick into the stand.
It has been a bit better from the hosts in recent moments, Ronaldo again trying his luck in an audacious attempt from 35 yards which meets a stout block.
