Man Utd boss Rangnick explains Ronaldo, Jones and Fernandes decisions for Wolves clash | Football | Sport

It’s a big evening for Jones, too, with the England international making his first start in nearly two years.

And Rangnick is happy for the former Blackburn star, while also conceding he was left with little choice due to injuries for Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly.

“I can only judge Phil Jones from the last four weeks,” said Rangnick, who replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last month.

“He has always been very professional, very much involved and since all other three centre-backs out, he was the logical choice.

“Harry Maguire received an injury against Burnley and had problems the day after the game. Since last night, we knew all three were out.”
