Man Utd legend Nani launches stunning attack on Erik ten Hag’s flops and says they ‘don’t want to get tired’

NANI has launched a stunning attack on Manchester United’s current crop, questioning their desire and hunger to win.

The Portuguese ace was part of an all-conquering Red Devils team under Sir Alex Ferguson, winning multiple Premier League titles and the Champions League.

But his old side now look a far cry from those days, having endured a humiliating start to life under Erik ten Hag.

After their latest embarrassment at the hands of Brentford, Nani sat down to chat with former team-mate Rio Ferdinand to discuss what’s going wrong at Old Trafford.

On Rio’s Vibe with Five show, he said: “I don’t like to talk too much, I don’t talk about players but you can see there is no hunger, there is no attitude or desire to win in the club.

“You have a lot of talented players but they don’t want to get tired. If I had to get sweaty to win, I would. They prefer to not sweat.

“You have talented players in the team with a lot of skills, they can shoot with their right foot and left but last game, no one was shooting at goal, everyone was passing.”

Nani, 35, now plays for Melbourne Victory following stints with Fenerbahce, Lazio, Sporting Lisbon, Orlando City and Venezia since leaving Old Trafford in 2015.

After witnessing his side’s horrific performance at Brentford, Ten Hag ordered his flops to come in the following day.

On what had been originally scheduled to be a day off, United players were made to run 8.5miles – the distance that Brentford had out-run them by the previous day.

Man United fans have continued protesting against the Glazer family’s ownership in recent weeks, with more demonstrations planned for Monday’s clash with Liverpool.

The Americans have finally indicated that they could sell a stake in the club, with British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe keen to buy United outright.

Shares in the club have skyrocketed amid Ratcliffe’s interest – with Manchester United Supporters’ Trust welcoming dialogue with prospective bidders.

Ratcliffe, valued at around £11bn, would jump at the chance to invest in the Old Trafford side and take “full control”.

The 69-year-old, who is a lifelong Red Devils supporter, failed in a last-ditch bid to buy Chelsea in May.
