Man Utd midfielder is ‘top of PSG’s list’ as Leonardo ‘pushes’ for free transfer

Paris Saint-Germain chief Leonardo is ‘pushing’ to sign Man Utd midfielder Paul Pogba in the summer, according to reports.

The France international is out of contract in the summer and there seems little sign of him agreeing a new deal to remain at Old Trafford.

As well as PSG, Pogba has been heavily linked with his former team Juventus and Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Speaking last month, Nicolas Anelka said that a move back to France with the Parisiens could favour the Man Utd midfielder.

“I know Paul, I played with him at Juventus, and it’s amazing what he can do with the ball,” Anelka told RMC Sport.

“Unfortunately, when he arrives in Manchester, they are not a big team. They are a team that has to rebuild themselves, they are looking for its game plan, they are looking for a coach.

“It’s been very difficult for him since he came back. He’s been criticised a lot. It’s not the best club where he can have fun and show his talent.

“I think PSG would be great for him. Some say it wouldn’t be good for Paris, because he’s supposedly often injured. But I think his injuries are due to his life in Manchester, because he’s not psychologically well.”

According to But! Football Club (via Sport Witness), Pogba is top of PSG sporting director Leonardo’s summer shopping list.

The Brazilian is ‘pushing talks with Mino Raiola’, who is the 29-year-old’s agent. Furthermore, the Ligue 1 club ‘have the means to get everyone to agree’.

Leonardo is under fire at PSG, as is Man Utd-linked manager Mauricio Pochettino, so the French side’s summer transfer strategy could change.

Meanwhile, Pogba has named former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can as one of his toughest ever opponents.

During a Q&A, Pogba has been asked who his toughest opponents have been so far. As well as Can, he took time to praise his France teammate N’Golo Kante.

“Emre Can, yeah,” Pogba answered when questioned by JOE.

“Obviously, N’Golo [Kanté] and everything, but one day I remember I had a big battle with Emre Can.”
