Man Utd news: Anthony Martial grilled by Sevilla boss after disappointing debut | Football | Sport

In January, United boss Ralf Rangnick publicly confirmed that Martial was keen to play his football elsewhere, but the German insisted that they would only agree to an exit if it benefitted the club.

Sevilla’s initial loan proposal was subsequently slapped down, before they later returned with an agreement to cover all of his reported £150,000-a-week wages.

Martial’s arrival in Spain was met with anticipation by fans, and Sevilla’s social media announcement referenced the forward’s famous debut goal for the Red Devils.

But the move was always something of a gamble, given that he scored just once in eight Premier League outings this term.
