Cristiano Ronaldo has decided on his Manchester United future amid reports he could leave the club in the summer.

the Portuguese forward has been linked with leaving United just a year after his return to the club following their struggles on the pith this season. But Ronaldo has now told his teammates he plans to stay if incoming manager Erik ten Hag wants him.

It comes as Rio Ferdinand has accused United’s players of “downing tools” against Brighton. And Rangers have outlined their transfer stance of making a summer move to keep hold of Amad following an impressive performance in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers’ Amad stance

Rangers are yet to make a decision over whether they want to keep Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo beyond this season, manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has said.

The forward moved to Scotland on loan during the January transfer window and it was expected he would gain valuable first-team experience at Rangers. But things have not quite worked out with Amad playing just 239 minutes in the league in five months.

But he managed to get himself on the scoresheet during the 2-0 win over Dundee United on Sunday – and has been promised by Van Bronckhorst that he “will get minutes in the last games”. And the Rangers boss has said that he is yet to make a decision on who to “bring on board” next season, leaving the door open for Amad to return.

Players accused of “downing tools”

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has accused the club’s players of “downing tools” following the 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Brighton on Saturday.

Goals from Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Pascal Gross and Leandro Trossard secured an emphatic victory for Graham Potter’s side, ensuring United would finish the season with their lowest points tally during the Premier League era. It’s been a season full of on-field struggles for United, and Ferdinand says he now “can’t even put up a fight as a Man United fan”.

The United icon said his former side “got pumped and sent back home” and accused players of “downing tools” in a scathing assessment of the performance.

Ronaldo decides on future

Cristiano Ronaldo is prepared to stay at Manchester United this summer if new boss Erik ten Hag wants him.

The United forward has managed 24 goals in 39 games this season despite his side’s struggles. While there have been reports he could seek to leave the club for a second time once the season comes to an end, sources are said to have claimed he is prepared to see out his two-year contract at Old Trafford.

And it is claimed Ronaldo “wants to help get the club back into the Champions League and try and win a trophy next year”.
