Fernandes talks up unity in Man Utd squad

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly been texting international teammate Joao Palhinha to try and convince him to move to Old Trafford this summer.

The club appear keen on Ronaldo’s apparent plan as well, with reports suggesting scouts have been sent to Portugal to watch the Sporting Lisbon midfielder in action.

It comes after Bruno Fernandes opened up about Ronaldo’s influence on the pitch ahead of the club’s Champions League last-16 tie against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

And United legend Paul Scholes has issued a damning assessment of the club’s current squad, insisting only one current player would get into bitter rivals Liverpool’s starting XI.

Scholes’ damning assessment

Paul Scholes has given a damning assessment of the current Manchester United squad – insisting only one current star would be good enough to earn a place in Liverpool’s starting XI.

According to the midfield legend, Paul Pogba is the only player good enough to play for the Anfield side – and the Frenchman currently looks like he’ll be leaving the club when his contract expires this summer.

It seems the former United star has changed his mind on Pogba from earlier in the season, after he slammed the midfielder following his performance during the 2-2 Champions League draw with Atalanta.

United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has opened up on “influential” teammate Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of the club’s Champions League tie against Atletico Madrid.
