Ralf Rangnick explains tactical change at half time after Brighton win

In a season of false dawns, Manchester United fans will be hoping the team can finally make some real progress.

On Tuesday, they were far from their best in a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford, but manager Ralf Rangnick would have been pleased with the way in which the team ground a victory.

Crucially, after spells of frustrating form there were goals for Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes too.

It will be fascinating to see if they can carry that momentum at what promises to be a hostile Elland Road on Sunday, when the Red Devils visit a struggling Leeds United.

Can Ronaldo and Fernandes both function effectively in the same team? Let us know in the comments section below!

Pogba is said to be open to offers from the Premier League

Messi and Ronaldo plan hatched

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering making a move for Ronaldo at the end of the season.

The 37-year-old is United’s top scorer this term with 15 goals, although speculation has simmered throughout the campaign regarding his future. The player has been linked with an exit, while some in the Red Devils dressing room are said to not see eye to eye with the forward.

But with Kylian Mbappe seemingly set to join Real Madrid from PSG in the summer, the Ligue 1 outfit are ready to offer Ronaldo a short-term deal.

If the move was to happen, then it would see the Portuguese link up with Lionel Messi. The pair are regarded as the best players of their generation and went toe to toe frequently during their spells with Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Pogba open to Premier League switch

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba would reportedly be open to joining a Premier League club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The France international is poised to leave Old Trafford, with PSG, Real Madrid and Juventus the clubs most frequently mentioned as possible suitors.

But according to reports, Pogba is not limiting his options to overseas outfits and is happy to wait until the end of the season before making a decision. It’s added that extending his stay at United “has not been totally ruled out.”

Given his contract situation, the playmaker is free to hold talks with clubs outside of the Premier League with a view to agreeing a possible pre-contract, although only a select group of teams could afford his £200,000-a-week salary.

Martial advice given

Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan has revealed the details of a conversation he had with Eric Bailly about Anthony Martial.

Martial moved to the Andalusian outfit in January having fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford. The Frenchman has impressed in his first two showings for the club too, laying on an assist in the 2-0 win over Elche last Friday.

According to Jordan, Bailly thinks Martial needs positive support to thrive as a footballer.

“Anthony (Martial), I spoke with my friend and brother Eric Bailly, before he arrived, and he spoke well to me, that he needed affection and to feel important,” he said.
