Ralf Rangnick explains tactical change at half time after Brighton win

Donny van de Beek has reportedly made a decision on his Manchester United future after joining Everton on loan on transfer deadline day.

The Dutchman arrived at Old Trafford in 2020 in a £35million deal from Ajax, when he was seen as one of the best rising stars in Europe.

But things haven’t worked out for him as he’s struggled to gain regular first-team football – leading to his January loan move away.

It comes as interim United boss Ralf Rangnick has been urged to drop Raphael Varane following his ‘terrible’ form for the club.

And Cristiano Ronaldo’s pre-match ritual has been revealed.

Ronaldo’s routine

Cristiano Ronaldo appears to be a creature of habit – and has the same pre-match ritual ahead of every game according to one of his teammates.

The Portuguese superstar returned to Old Trafford last summer and has since bagged himself 15 goals in 27 appearances, ending a recent goal drought with his strike in the 2-0 win over Brighton on Tuesday evening.

The forward’s influence in the United dressing room has become evident, with countryman Diogo Dalot saying his recent upturn in form is largely down to the help of Ronaldo.

And the Portuguese duo both do the exact same thing together before every match.

Rangnick urged to drop Varane

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has been told Raphael Varane is to blame for the side’s struggles in defence this season.

United captain Harry Maguire has been heavily criticised following his side’s poor defensive displays this term, but former Tottenham Hotspur boss Time Sherwood believes it is actually Varane who has been ‘terrible’.

And Sherwood has called for Rangnick to drop the Frenchman, as he explained which of United’s other centre-backs Maguire looks most comfortable playing alongside.

Van de Beek makes decision

Donny van de Beek is ready to quit his Manchester United career this summer – on one condition.

The midfielder has impressed for Everton since joining Frank Lampard’s side on transfer deadline day and now faces a big decision in the next window over where his future lies.

And his decision was reportedly made easier following Ralf Rangnick’s claims that the mood at Old Trafford had improved since his exit.

Van de Beek is now said to be ready to join Everton permanently if the club can meet one condition.
