Manchester United defender Harry Maguire left his England teammates baffled during a training session last week.

The centre-back is currently on international duty with his country but was an unused substitute as England beat Switzerland 2-1 at Wembley on Saturday thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Luke Shaw following Breel Embolo’s opener. But it was during a training session that Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson, in particular, was left baffled by Maguire’s decision making.

It comes as United’s needs from their summer rebuild have been detailed. and Paul Pogba has issued an update on his contract situation at Old Trafford.

Manchester United’s Paul Pogba has issued an update on his contract situation with the midfielder’s current deal set to expire this summer.

Pogba arrived at Old Trafford for a huge £89million fee in 2016 but looks set to leave on a free transfer for the second time after previously signing for Juventus when his contract expired in 2012. In his latest update, the France international has admitted it is “sad” that Manchester United remain without silverware as he hinted at his own future.

The Frenchman has hinted that wherever he ends up, he wants to win trophies before his career is over.

Maguire baffles teammates

Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson was left baffled by Harry Maguire during training with England.

While the England players were taking part in a rondo, an exercise in which multiple players keep the ball away from one or two men by attempting to pass around them in a small zone by taking only one touch each, Maguire’s decision making was not at its finest.

With goalkeeper Nick Pope and playmaker Jack Grealish in the centre of the group trying to win the ball back, Henderson was counting how many successful passes had been strung together. But he couldn’t believe what happened when the ball came to Maguire.

Rebuild plans detailed

The extent of what Manchester United need from their summer rebuild has been revealed.

The upcoming summer could be one of the most turbulent transfer windows in the club’s history with Ralf Rangnick set to step aside from his role as interim manager to take up a consultancy role. That will mean a new manager needs to be found, but the club could also sign off on 12 transfer outgoings as well as bringing in four big additions to the squad in order to kickstart their new era.
