Man Utd star Paul Pogba ‘open to Premier League offers’ as transfer saga takes bad twist | Football | Sport

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could consider Premier League offers ahead of his contract expiry this summer. As it stands, the 28-year-old will become a free agent in July, but he is still undecided on his future amid an important few months for the Red Devils.

Pogba has already left United on a Bosman in 2012, joining Juventus under the influence of agent Mino Raiola, much to the disgruntlement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

But the dynamic midfielder made his triumphant Old Trafford return in 2016, joining Jose Mourinho’s project for a then-world-record £89million.

Despite showing hints of world-class quality during his second stint at the club, he hasn’t hit the heights initially expected, only winning the League Cup and Europa League in his first year back.

And his once-romantic return could culminate in a sour climax, with Premier League rivals potentially in with a shout of stealing him from United’s grasp.

According to The Telegraph, Pogba is prepared to wait until the end of the season to decide where his future lies.

The France international will consider all options, including an Old Trafford stay, and is willing to listen to Premier League proposals.

Pogba will be one of Europe’s hottest free agents if he doesn’t extend his current United deal, with only a selection of clubs capable of meeting his demands.

But he wants to push transfer talk to one side and focus on helping Ralf Rangnick guide his side to a positive conclusion to a tumultuous season after recovering from a three-month groin injury.

Pogba has been strongly linked with long-term admirers Real Madrid ahead of his contract expiry, whilst PSG and Juventus are also in the frame.

In terms of English suitors, Chelsea tried to sign when Mourinho was at the helm in 2015, but Raiola revealed it ‘wasn’t the right time’.

The super-agent, known to do whatever it takes for his client and his financial status, also offered Pogba to city rivals Manchester City in 2018.

Mourinho wasn’t selecting the Frenchman at the time, but Pep Guardiola opted against pursuing a transfer.
