Good morning Man Utd fans
Manchester United beat Burnley 2-0 in their Carabao Cup’s Round of 16 clash at Old Trafford.
Christian Eriksen opened the scoring in the 27th minute thanks to a fantastic assist by Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Marcus Rashford doubled United’s lead on 57 minutes to seal the big win for the hosts.
The Red Devils have progressed to the quarter-finals and will find out their opponents later today.
Meanwhile, United manager Erik ten Hag gave a damning assessment of the squad he inherited in the summer and revealed what he needed to change.
Ten Hag told Voetbal International before the match with Burnley: “There was no spirit in it [the dressing room], I didn’t see any team dynamics in the team.
“The mental toughness was very low. The fighting spirit, for each other, prioritising the team, that wasn’t really in this squad.
“Changing the culture was the most important thing for me.”
And Al-Nassr expect Cristiano Ronaldo to sign for the club by the end of the year.
Ronaldo has been repeatedly linked to the Saudi Arabian club as he searches for a new home after his dramatic departure from United.
According to Marca, Al-Nassr believe an agreement is close with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
If the forward does move, the publication report he will sign a two-and-a-half year deal worth an eye-watering £174million.
Finally, United face having to pay Porto star Diogo Costa’s £65million release clause.
United are said to be in the market for David de Gea’s replacement between the sticks and have been linked to a number of goalkeepers.
According to Correio da Manha, Costa’s whopping asking price will have to be met so that the Portuguese outfit can let him go.
The Red Devils have also been linked with other keepers, like Borussia Monchengladbach star Yann Sommer.
