Manchester United supporters believe the club should sell Paul Pogba this summer rather than risk losing him for nothing after he rejected a contract offer from the club.
The Daily Mirror reports that Pogba has turned down a long-term contract offer from United which would have seen his wages hike up to £350,000-per-week.
The Frenchman is now into the final 12-months of his current deal at Old Trafford and it’s said that United are now prepared to sell him rather than risk losing him for nothing in a year’s time.
This has alerted Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain who are prepared to buy Pogba this summer for £45million but United will only sanction a sale if their £50million asking price is met.
Pogba’s future has been in perennial doubt throughout this second stint at Old Trafford and his agent, Mino Raiola, cause a stir last year when he claimed he was ‘unhappy’ at the club and that his time in Manchester was ‘over.’
The 28-year-old has enjoyed his finest run of form since returning to the club from Juventus in 2021 and the club wanted to secure his future, but their offer has been snubbed with a view of forcing through a move to Paris.
Some United fans believe that if Pogba wants to leave then the club should cash in so they can reinvest the funds on a replacement.
New PSG signing Georginio Wijnaldum has stated that he would ‘love’ Pogba to join him in the French capital.
“I would love to have Pogba with us,” Wijnaldum told RMC Sport. “He’s fantastic. I have played against him several times – what a player!
“If you ask any player from another team if he would like Pogba to join him, everyone will say yes because he is an extraordinary player, full of qualities. He has it all, one of the best midfielders in the world.”
