Manchester United play Villarreal in the Champions League at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
United lost the opening game of their new Champions League campaign with a 2-1 defeat against BSC Young Boys and they’ve since been knocked out of the Carabao Cup and lost their Premier League unbeaten record against Aston Villa.
There’s reason for optimism, though, because United are still level on points with Manchester City and Chelsea in the league standings while leaders Liverpool are just one point ahead – a positive result against Villarreal will ensure United regain momentum once again.
Regarding team news, Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire were forced off the pitch through injury for United at the weekend and it’s yet clear whether the pair will be available for tomorrow’s game, although Solskjaer will speak at his press conference later today.
Villarreal secured a point away at Real Madrid, who sit at the top of La Liga, on Saturday and they’ll be hoping to cause an upset.
