Donny van de Beek left Manchester United on loan on deadline day.
Van de Beek has joined Everton on a deal until the end of the season after successfully undergoing his medical on Monday.
Everton will cover all of the player’s £120,000 per week wages. There is no option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season and the midfielder is Frank Lampard’s first signing at Goodison Park.
Newcastle and Watford made loan offers for Jesse Lingard and Dean Henderson respectively on deadline day, but of those moves were blocked by the United board. Ralf Rangnick now has a 25-man squad and that’s including third-choice stopper Tom Heaton.
Ahead of the window, the Manchester Evening News understood new signings were unlikely in January unless funds could be raised through permanent departures. That didn’t happen and United had a quiet window in terms of incomings, as was expected.
United next play against Middlesbrough in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday, February 4.
