Manchester United are not looking to sign Aurelien Tchouameni in this summer’s transfer window.
The AS Monaco defensive midfielder emerged as a new target for a position that United have been intent on strengthening throughout the summer window, and reports suggested that the club were ready to make a move before deadline day.
However, according to Sky Italia’s Fabrizio Romano, there is no imminent move in place and United are not interested in signing the young Frenchman this summer, echoing the reporting of our chief Manchester United writer, Samuel Luckhurst.
As Luckhurst also reported on Thursday, more incomings look unlikely at this point, but outgoings are beginning to hot up as Andreas Pereira has agreed to join Flamengo on loan for the upcoming season.
According to Brazilian outlet TNT, Pereira will join on loan until June 2022 and Flamengo will have an option to sign him permanently next summer for £12.7m should he impress.
He is set to travel to Brazil on Friday before signing a contract on Saturday and possibly being unveiled ahead of United’s next game against Southampton on Sunday.
Another potential departure is Jesse Lingard, who remains a target for West Ham this summer following a stellar six-month loan spell at the London Stadium last season.
According to The Times, Lingard wants to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford, but if he is not given assurances of regular first-team football he could still look to leave before the window closes.
The Hammers are said to be preparing a bid, although they are unwilling to match his £25m asking price.
Lingard was unavailable for Man United’s opening day win over Leeds as he was still isolating after testing positive for COVID-19.
However, he has since returned and scored in the behind-closed-doors friendly win over Burnley on Tuesday, meaning he could earn a place on the bench for this Sunday’s Southampton game.
