Manchester United vs Everton LIVE score and goal updates as Ronaldo and Pogba on bench and Shaw and Cavani start

Manchester United welcome Everton to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

After two poor results, United needed to deliver a strong performance against Villarreal in the Champions League in midweek and, although they struggled and went a goal down, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side fought back to complete a late, dramatic comeback.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s match-winning goal deep into stoppage time ensured United recorded their first win of the new Champions League campaign and they’ll be hoping to get back on track in the league here after losing 1-0 to Aston Villa last weekend.

Harry Maguire was forced off the pitch through injury against Aston Villa and he’s set to be sidelined for a few weeks due to the calf problem he sustained in that game, which means he’s unavailable for Everton’s visit – Victor Lindelof is likely to start instead.

“We’ve done that [late winner] so many times at this club,” Solskjaer said in his pre-match press conference.

“We played against a very good team, dominated possession but were open on the counter-attack. The boost, the energy has to be built on. It is a very quick turnaround. The players are not going to get caught out.”
