Marcus Rashford’s price tag at Man Utd has changed by £90m as two rivals eye transfer | Football | Sport

Rashford has become a star at Old Trafford since making his debut for United in 2016. And he’s already played over 300 games for the club at the age of 24. But he’s gone off the boil.

At the start of 2021, Rashford was named as the most valuable player on the planet by the CIES Football Observatory, who use a special scientific algorithm to work out the estimated value of the top footballers in the world. The ace was said to be worth a staggering £150million at the time, which made him more expensive than Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

But United would now reportedly settle for a minimum of £60m for the player if they sell him to a rival club at the end of the season. And that would represent one of the biggest plummets of player value in the history of the game.

Rashford is said to have been ‘left frustrated’ by United’s lack of success in recent years and could be willing to sever ties with his boyhood club as he battles for a place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad at this year’s Qatar World Cup.

Newcastle are keen to make a statement signing after being taken over by a mega-rich Saudi-led consortium last autumn, while Arsenal are desperate to sign a frontman this summer, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah set to follow Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of the club. So Rashford could soon bring his Old Trafford nightmare to an end.
