Football fans joked Phil Foden sent Victor Lindelof back to Sweden with his absurd first touch in the build-up to Manchester Cit y’s second goal against Manchester United on Sunday.
City gained the advantage early on in the contest through Kevin De Bruyne.
But United hit back through Jadon Sancho on 22 minutes.
Pep Guardiola’s side then went back in front once more after De Bruyne took control in the box to fire past a helpless David de Gea.
While there was nothing special about the finish, Foden’s touch in the build-up had football fans raving on social media.
Foden, dubbed the Stockport Iniesta, produced a piece of skill right out of the Barcelona legend’s playbook to leave United defender Lindelof beat all ends up.
The England star received the ball just outside the box and flicked it neatly over the head of his opponent, who dived in with a header, leaving him in no man’s land.
As Lindelof attempted to head thin air, Foden saw his shot saved by De Gea before Bernardo Silva’s follow up fell into the path of De Bruyne, who stroked home to make it 2-1.
But on social media, fans were in awe of Foden’s insane piece of skill.
One person wrote: “The way foden chipped Lindelof was tooooo rude.”

Someone else said: “Foden just dragged Lindelof to war.”
A third person added: “Foden sent Lindelof straight to the streets of Sweden.”
“Foden sent Lindelof back to Sweden,” agreed another user.
While someone else joked that the 21-year-old had “deleted” his opponent.
Others took it as a chance to have a dig at Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, a competitor with Foden in England’s midfield.
“Foden is so clear of Mount the way he just took that ball over Lindelof is incredible,” they said.
Foden was a constant thorn in United’s side in the first half as Ralf Rangnick’s visitors struggled to contain City’s forward players.
