A quick glance back at the action from Aggborough as Harriers host Manchester United XI

A LIVELY young Manchester United XI came out on top with a 1-0 pre-season friendly win at Aggborough on Tuesday night
There was far from a short supply of chances in the first half – within a quarter-hour, Tom Palmer had demonstrated his expertise a number of times with good saves to deny Charlie McNeill, Shola Shoretire and Mateo Mejia.
Harriers had their share of the attacking intent, too – Zak Brown shot across goal with 17 gone, before Nathan Lowe drilled an effort into the chest of goalkeeper Dermot Mee.
With 35 gone, Ashley Hemmings warmed Mee’s fingertips with an angled drive, before the woodwork denied Shoretire at the other end.
Seconds after the restart, Yusifu Ceesay shot into the top of the side netting as he looked to get at United early, but it was United who broke the deadlock seven after the hour – McNeill crossing for Mejia who swept the ball beyond Palmer.
Palmer would deny Mejia a second by turning the ball on to the woodwork minutes later, before McNeill blazed wide of the target from inside the area after turning well.
With the night’s final effort, Omari Forson dragged the ball wide of the post with an effort for United from 18 yards.
Harriers wrap up their pre-season campaign with a final first-team friendly at Halesowen Town this weekend (3pm) before the league term begins at Blyth Spartans the following week.
