The Stateside tournament featured a number of big teams like Celtic, River Plate, Roma plus several MLS sides.

And United fielded sides in both the U15 and U17 category.

It remains unclear which group Giggs Jr was part of, but the former were beaten by Portland Timbers 2-1 in the last-16 while latter went down by the same score to River Plate in the quarters.

Despite not going on to win the tournament, Giggs appeared to have loved every minute of it as he posted several action shots and a team photo from the trip on to his Instagram account.

Giggs also set an incredible record of scoring in 23 consecutive campaigns playing in the Premier League.

And midfielder Nemanja Matic, who will leave United once his deal expires in June, also has his boy Filip attempting to emulate his father after joining the academy as a seven-year-old.
