Ten Hag ‘will be delighted’ with £350k-a-week star at Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will be “delighted” with Jadon Sancho‘s form this season, says journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 22-year-old winger had some struggles last term in his debut campaign at Old Trafford, but things are now going extremely well for him under his new boss.

What is the latest news involving Sancho?

Ten Hag has spoken really highly of Sancho recently following his goals against Liverpool and Leicester City.

Speaking about the Englishman, he said (via Manchester Evening News): “I think he had quite a good pre-season. He understands now he has to invest in the physical and that is what he did and now he can get the reward and that is what he has to bring. I’m sure it’s the start for him.

“With his potential, there’s much more room for improvement, he can be even more important and contribute with his creativity and scoring goals and assists. With the defending part, he can be even more important.”

Sancho would have been looking for his third goal of the Premier League season on Sunday, but United’s clash against Crystal Palace has now been postponed.

What has O’Rourke said about Sancho?

O’Rourke thinks Ten Hag will be pleased with what he has seen from Sancho so far.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, the journalist said: “I’m sure Ten Hag will be delighted to see the likes of Sancho getting back to the form that he showed at Borussia Dortmund. He had a difficult first season at Manchester United, and I don’t think anybody can have any complaints about that.

“Marcus Rashford had a real disappointing season as well, but he’s back among the goals and it seems his confidence is being restored.”

Can Sancho maintain this level of form?

There is no reason why he cannot. While last season was probably one to forget for the £350,000-a-week England international, who scored just three league goals for United, it is not hard to see that he is a quality player.

In his final campaign at Borussia Dortmund, Sancho produced 19 goal contributions in the Bundesliga and recorded an impressive average of three dribbles per game (via WhoScored).

Ultimately, when Sancho is on his game, he is a very dangerous attacker. At 22, he is still very young and probably just needed a bit of time to adapt to the Premier League. Based on what he has shown so far this season, he could be in for a really good campaign.
