Monday also marks the anniversary of George Best bagging a double hat-trick against Northampton Town, with six goals in an 8-2 win over the Cobblers in 1970.


In what is set to be a full round of midweek fixtures in the Premier League, the Reds travel to Turf Moor for the challenge of Sean Dyche’s Burnley side and will be looking to make it three wins on the spin in the division.

The Under-18s will have an occasion to savour on Wednesday when a place in the FA Youth Cup quarter-finals is at stake under the lights at the Theatre of Dreams. Standing in the way of Travis Binnion’s young Reds are Everton, with kick-off set for 19:00 GMT.

Wednesday will also be the anniversary of our former midfielder Liam Miller sadly passing away in 2018 at the age of 36.
