Watch Cristiano Ronaldo Jr run rings around opposition in Man Utd training as he looks to follow in dad’s footsteps

CRISTIANO RONALDO JR is clearly learning from his dad as he demonstrated his silky skills in training.

The Portuguese legend’s son officially joined the Manchester United academy in February – six months after his own stunning Old Trafford return.

And a month on from his unveiling, the 11-year-old is already causing chaos on the training pitch by running rings around his junior Red Devils team-mates.

A video circulated on social media showed Ronaldo Jr bamboozling opponents in a practice match.

The first short clip shows Cristianito battling to win possession back before stopping the ball and feinting his body to beat the onrushing tackler.

In the next play, he takes the ball out of the air with a glorious first touch and then uses his old man’s trademark chop move and then some seamless stepovers to leave defenders in his quake.

As well as the skills – reminiscent of when Ronaldo Sr rocked up in Manchester 19 years ago – even the running technique and way Cristiano Jr carries himself on the pitch bears a remarkable resemblance to his dad.

One Twitter user wrote: “This trickster gives me huge hope that he’ll have a great career.”

The youngster may be a few years away from making a first-team debut but is begging his father not to retire so they can play together.

Ronaldo said: “My son tells me, ‘Dad hold on a few more years – I want to play with you.'”

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner predicts his eldest child could go on to do great things in football – but continues to give him the freedom to choose what he wants to do.

He said: “Only time will tell. I will never pressure him.

“He will do what he wants.

“Also what I want the most for Cristianito and everyone else is that they’re happy and that they choose what they want.

“I will support in any way.”
